Jonathan’s Kingsway Pharmacy is owned and managed by Jonathan Gbedemah – a pharmacist local to Sudbury since 2017. Jonathan graduated from the University of Waterloo Doctor of Pharmacy Co-operative Education program with Dean’s honours, and was also admitted to the degree of Bachelor of Science (Honours Science).
After performing his clinical rotations at Sudbury’s Health Sciences North Hospital in the ICU (under preceptor Sarah Landry) and Geriatrics departments (North East Specialized Geriatric Centre – NESGC under Dr. Jo-Anne Clarke, Dr. Susan Lane, Dr. James Chau and site staff), Jonathan committed to relocating to Sudbury permanently.
From 2017 through 2024, you may have seen Jonathan practice pharmacy in a number of locations including Sudbury, Coniston, Chelmsford, Val Caron, Alban, Noëlville, North Bay, Espanola, and Manitoulin Island. With the experiences he garnered at these establishments, he decided to open his own place to practice pharmacy – a place where he could practice pharmacy without barriers. Jonathan looks forward to serving each of his patients and customers daily while eliminating barriers to effective patient care.
Jonathan’s Kingsway Pharmacy has a mobile app that makes it even easier to fill new and refill prescriptions. Additionally, new and refill prescriptions can be texted in 24/7 on the dedicated pharmacy text line.
Jonathan’s Kingsway Pharmacy also offers the convenience of delivery of prescriptions within Sudbury. Compliance packaging (blister packaging) is offered to all patients to help reduce barriers for patients and caregivers alike.
Jonathan’s Kingsway Pharmacy has an on-site prescription compounding facility that speeds up the filling of your compounded prescriptions. No need for you to send your compounded prescriptions offsite or to a specialty compounding pharmacy!
Jonathan is certified to provide the Ontario Diabetes Medscheck – come to Jonathan’s Kingsway Pharmacy to have him assess and review your diabetes care.
Additionally, Jonathan is certified to prescribe for all 16 Ontario Minor Ailment conditions. Stop in at the Jonathan’s Kingsway Pharmacist Walk-In Clinic for Minor Ailments!
Last but not least, Jonathan’s sister is a second-year pharmacist student in the University of Alberta’s Doctor of Pharmacy program, set to graduate in 2026. We hope to see Samantha practice pharmacy in Ontario soon!
